Why buy solid hardwood?

Solid hardwood is made of single pieces of wood, which are made into planks. These are typically nailed down into a wooden sub-floor. Solid hardwood comes in a massive variety of wood types, colours, sizes, and it can usually be sanded and refinished throughout the lifetime of the product. Solid hardwood is suitable for above-ground installations; it cannot be installed directly onto concrete.
